Step up your cooking game and let's get cooking!
For searing, sautéing, braising and simmering, without poisoning yourself
Halfway between a saucepan and a frying pan with its flat base and high sides, it is perfect for large vegetable pans, sautéed potatoes but also risotto, dishes in sauce, pasta, one-pot meals, veal sautés, caramel, seafood, shakshuka, oven cooking... We can no longer count the number of recipes that can call for a sauté pan, it is so versatile.

Ideal for entertaining large groups
The sauté pan is a must-have for any cook who loves to entertain and share. Its large cooking surface and large capacity allow you to prepare generous and voluminous recipes such as dishes in sauce, vegetable stir-fries, or one-pot meals. The lid provided with it perfectly seals the body of the sauté pan, allowing you to stew or finish your cooking in the oven. The icing on the cake? You can use it directly for table service, except for meat, for which it is not essential. Oh yes, and never over high heat, no need thanks to the 3-ply technology.

Healthy for your health and the environment
The ideal sauté pan is a safe choice for your cooking: it contains no PTFE, PFOA, or PFOAS. And no, unlike non-stick sauté pans with Teflon, it does not release any harmful substances or plastic microparticles into food. The chemicals contained in these coatings are also very harmful to the environment because they dissolve very slowly in nature. They are also called "eternal chemicals." With the ideal sauté pan, all that is over. So it's time to get rid of your non-stick sauté pan and switch to a healthier and safer cookware!

The questions you ask yourself
How do I choose my sauté pan?
At Atma, the sauté pan is a cooking utensil we love. Halfway between a saucepan and a frying pan with its flat bottom and high sides, it allows you to sauté, fry, reduce, sear or even boil. Vegetables, sauces, meats, fish, fruits, dishes in sauce, pasta... we can no longer count the number of recipes that can call for a sauté pan, it is so versatile. So you might as well choose it well.
As always, you have to start by choosing the right coating. The different options available to you are: stainless steel, cast iron, iron and non-stick coatings. So here, as with all of our utensils, we swear by stainless steel. Its finish, its quality, its heat-diffusing base and its 3 superimposed layers make it simply incomparable! Indeed, the 3-ply stainless steel that we use does not contain any chemicals to offer you healthy cooking, allows a rapid and even rise in temperature for tasty and precise cooking and finally, ultra-resistant, enough to accompany you for a lifetime.
You can then benefit from a high-quality cooking utensil, with a meticulous and cleverly thought-out design to guarantee your safety.
For those of you who have doubts, we reassure you that with the right actions, stainless steel in the kitchen does not stick.
Finally, stainless steel is very easy to maintain and can be easily put in the dishwasher, for example. If you would like to know more about other coatings, we have made a comparison table which can be found higher up on the product sheet!
Then comes the question of size: sauté pans generally range from 20cm to 30cm in diameter. At Atma we have developed two models:
- A 24cm diameter sauté pan: ideal for 2 to 3 people
- A 26cm diameter sauté pan: ideal for 4 to 5 people. For our 26cm diameter sauté pan we have even provided an additional side handle to help you carry it.
Check the compatibility of your sauté pan with your hob. Especially if you are using an induction hob because not all materials are compatible with induction. The 3-ply stainless steel that we use at Atma is 100% compatible with all heat sources including induction, so no problem there.
Finally, last important point, check that your sauté pan is supplied with a lid. Some manufacturers do not provide a lid with the purchase of their sauté pan, even though it is an essential accessory for cooking well with a sauté pan. Rest assured, at Atma, it is well stocked.
What are the differences between a frying pan and a sauté pan?
To simplify, a sauté pan is a mix between a frying pan and a saucepan. So, if we start with their similarities, both utensils have a wide cooking surface that allows you to sear, sauté, or braise your food.
Then, unlike a frying pan, the sauté pan has straight, high sides. Also equipped with a lid, the sauté pan retains the heat of your dish, while limiting its evaporation.
Initially designed to sear meat and vegetables with very little fat and then continue cooking over low heat, the sauté pan quickly became an essential part of every kitchen. For good reason, it allows you to cook a huge number of recipes: it is perfect for large pans of vegetables and sautéed potatoes, but also for all other preparations that require searing/grilling at the start and then continuing slow cooking. This is the case for many dishes in sauce such as chicken curry, paupiettes, veal sauté... you get the idea.
The best of the best: sauté pans are also perfect for finishing cooking your pasta and concocting the best sauces. Our favorite, spaghetti al limone!
The easy cleaning of this cooking utensil makes it a true ally for all cooks: whether you are a gourmet looking for an impeccable finish or a big foodie looking for a stainless steel sauté pan with a nice depth, you will benefit from a practical and pleasant product to use.
How do I maintain my stainless steel sauté pan?
To make cleaning easier, you can deglaze your pan just after use, with water to loosen the juices. Let it soak for a few minutes, then remove any lingering juices using a wooden spoon or a copper scraper.
You can put the ideal sauté pan in the dishwasher or clean it by hand with hot water and dish soap.

Do stainless steel sauté pans stick?
With the right gestures, no!
To prevent your cooking from sticking with a stainless steel sauté pan, it is necessary to follow these few tips / steps:
- Preheat your sauté pan for 2 minutes over medium heat, not high heat.
- A sauté pan at the right temperature is one that does not stick. To check that it is at the right temperature, perform the water drop test: throw a few drops of water into your sauté pan. If they roll and form small balls, your sauté pan is at the right temperature.
- It is essential to add fat for all your cooking except meat where it is not mandatory.
- Be patient: let a first layer form on your food, meat or vegetables, before trying to unstick your food.
- The ideal sauté pan heats up very quickly and retains heat for a long time thanks to the 3-ply stainless steel. It is therefore not necessary, even not recommended, to cook over high heat at the risk of burning / sticking your food.
- The easy cleaning of your cooking utensil ensures durability and practicality in all circumstances.
