OUR TIPS FOR PERFECT
STAINLESS STEEL COOKING

Kinder to you, kinder to the planet

Unlike non-stick Teflon frying pans, stainless steel frying pans won’t release any harmful substances or microplastics into your food. They don’t contain any PFTE, PFOA, or PFOAS so cooking with them is safer for you and the environment. The chemicals used in non-stick coatings break down extremely slowly in nature. They’re called ‘forever chemicals’ for a reason.

With the right technique, stainless steel won't stick

You’ll find articles on our blog packed full of advice on how to master cooking with a stainless steel frying pan and easy tutorial videos on our YouTube channel. You’ll also receive a printed cooking guide for free with your order. In a nutshell: always preheat your pan over a medium heat for two minutes. Complete the water drop test to make sure it’s got up to heat and then add a little oil or butter, unless you’re cooking meat. And never use high heat, Atma’s 3-ply technology gets really hot so you never need it. There you go, you’re all set.

Consistent, precise cooking - every time

At Atma, we believe every home cook deserves the same quality as top chefs cooking in the best restaurants. That’s why our frying pans are made from 3-ply stainless steel from base to rim. Optimal heat distribution, quicker results, and pinpoint precision for mouthwatering results, every time. And yes, 3-ply stainless steel is compatible with every cooking surface - induction, gas, electric, ovens, and ceramic - and is dishwasher safe.

Lifetime guarantee

Our stainless steel cookware are built to last and comes with a lifetime guarantee. Stainless steel is naturally durable and really easy to care for. The handle is securely riveted for added strength and hollowed out to limit heat transfer for a safer, more comfortable grip.

Made in France

Our cookware is made in France. We’ve teamed up with a family-run business that’s been perfecting cookware for over 30 years. Opting to produce in France also helps us reduce our environmental impact, and tap into centuries of technical expertise.

Frequently asked questions, answered

Are your stainless steel utensils made in France?

Yes, our stainless steel products are made in France, in partnership with a family-owned company with 30 years of experience. This choice supports local craftsmanship, reduces our environmental impact, and ensures outstanding quality.

Why choose our 18/10 stainless steel cookware without non-stick coating?

Because they are healthy, durable, and high-performing.

Most chemical non-stick coatings contain PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances), which are known for their harmful effects on health and the environment. In fact, a ban is being considered in Europe starting in 2026/2027. We explain all of this in more detail in our article on the risks of non-stick coated pans.

Our 3-ply 18/10 stainless steel cookware, with no coating, offers a safe and effective alternative. Their structure (2.2 mm thick) is composed of:

  • An inner layer of 18/10 stainless steel: resistant to oxidation thanks to its 18% chromium, and food-safe due to its 8% nickel.
  • A core layer of encapsulated aluminum: ensures fast and even heat distribution, without direct contact with food.
  • An outer layer of ferritic stainless steel: makes the cookware compatible with induction and all other heat sources.

Are your stainless steel cookware pieces compatible with all heat sources?

Absolutely. Our cookware works on gas, ceramic, induction, electric, the oven and even the BBQ

Do stainless steel pans stick?

With the right technique, never!

To stop your stainless steel frying pan from sticking, just follow these simple steps:

- Preheat your frying pan for two minutes over a medium heat. Never use a high heat.

- A hot frying pan won’t stick. To check you’ve reached the right temperature, do the water drop test. Sprinkle a few drops of water on the surface of your frying pan and if they form small rolling beads, you’re good to cook.

- Always add a little oil or butter, unless you’re cooking meat. Thanks to our frying pan’s outstanding heat distribution, you can sear meat perfectly without.

- Take your time. Let a delicious light crust form on your meat or vegetables before turning.

- The Good Frying Pan heats up fast and maintains temperature for a long time. Thanks to its 3-ply stainless steel you’ll never need high heat. In fact, it’s best to avoid unless you want burnt or stuck food.

Need proof? Check out our step-by-step videos here to see how easy it is to cook without it sticking, and find practical advice on our blog. We even cooked up some eggs. You’ll see - cooking with stainless steel is easy once you know how.

How do I care for my stainless steel cookware?

To make cleaning a breeze, use room-temperature water to deglaze your frying pan straight after using it. Never use cold water, as the thermal shock could damage your pan.

Let it soak for a few minutes, then lift away any stubborn stuck-on bits with a wooden spoon or copper wire before putting it in the dishwasher or washing it by hand.

Why use 3-ply 18/10 stainless steel?

Atma’s aim is to provide you with professional quality utensils that last a lifetime at a fair price.

So, why is using 18/10 3-ply stainless steel such a big deal?

Because it’s a material that revolutionises the way we cook, creating frying pans that genuinely raise the bar. We use a 3-ply stainless steel that’s 2.3mm thick and made up of three layers:

  • The inside layer that you cook on uses 18/10 stainless steel. That’s 18% chromium to avoid oxidisation, and 10% nickel to keep flavours pure.

  • The inner layer is made from aluminium, for fast, even heat distribution from base to rim. It’s the reason Atma frying pans get so hot and cook with such precision. The aluminium is completely sealed between the two layers of stainless steel, so no food ever comes into contact with it.

  • Finally, the outer layer. Ferritic stainless steel that’s totally compatible with induction, as well as all other cooking surfaces.

To go deeper into the nitty gritty, head to our blog on Atma’s 18/10 three-layer stainless steel.
