Our full stainless steel stove

As with everything we do at Atma, you've guided us! After the launch of our Ultimate Chef's Knife, we asked you what you'd like to see join the range next.
Drumroll! Here's the result.
In third place on the podium are kitchen accessories like the spatula, whisk, and wooden spoon, with an interest rating of 3.4/5. In second place is the complete knife set, with a rating of 3.8. And at the top of the podium, the verdict is unanimous, with no fewer than 327 requests: the Poêle (en inox).
You choose, we execute, and here we are today.
A specification for the pan
Your feedback on these questionnaires is very important because it allows us to create utensils that suit you. But it's also very valuable because it allows us to realize that we're truly in tune with you.
The choice of pan is a no-brainer. After the knife, it's the most common and most used utensil in a kitchen, and with Atma, we're focusing first on kitchen essentials.
We're on the same wavelength, and that makes us very happy!
Now that we knew what to work on, we had to figure out how to go about it. And it was you again who gave us the steps to follow.
We sent you a second questionnaire to determine your needs, desires, and expectations. And more than 200 of you responded, enough to leave with precise specifications that, we hope, will resonate with as many people as possible.
Here's the lowdown.
As for using the pan, it's just as we imagined. You need a versatile pan to handle cooking vegetables, meat, fish, and eggs.
For the diameter of the pan, you asked us for 3 different sizes. So we're going to release it in: 26 cm and 28 cm, the two diameters you requested the most. And we're also planning a 20 cm pan because it's still very practical for meals on the go or side dishes.
The majority, 53%, asked us for a fixed handle to have a firm grip, more practical for frying your julienne vegetables.

And finally, we understand thatthe lid wasn't optional for you, since it was specifically requested by 73% of you.

To be completely transparent with you, we haven't found a lid for our pan yet. The search is underway and we're not giving up hope, but it's possible the cover will arrive later.
Technical excellence
On the technical side, you've clearly made your priorities clear:

So here's how we went about addressing your two most important criteria for your perfect pan.
Regarding the coating, 44% of you told us you didn't want one. So we went with a 100% stainless steel pan, just like the pros!

To meet your expectations, we chose 3-ply stainless steel. This means the entire cooking surface is made from a 3-layer alloy:
- one layer of stainless steel,
- one layer of aluminum,
- another layer of stainless steel.
In terms of performance, this allows for rapid temperature rise, perfect heat distribution throughout the pan, and precise cooking.
In terms of durability, stainless steel is the best performer because coated pans have a limited lifespan. When heated at high temperatures, over time, the coating flakes, disintegrates, or peels off.
A little health bonus: having a pan without a non-stick coating eliminates all the contamination risks associated with Teflon. And that's always a good thing.
In terms of ease of use, this pan is suitable for all cooktops. Since 88% of you cook on either induction or gas stovetops, this will suit everyone. Even the small 10% that use ceramic hobs.
And to make your life easier in the kitchen, this pan is dishwasher-safe. So you can focus on the preparation without worrying about what comes afterward.
Outstanding partners
Once the specifications were finalized, we set out to find the best expertise to bring your ideal pan to life.
And it's no easy task! We contacted more than thirty manufacturers in Europe and finally found an incredible partner who shares our passion for quality work, our rigor, and our attention to detail. This partner is a Portuguese family-owned factory with expertise in high-end cookware. They work with leading brands, and most importantly, they were on board with our project from the very beginning. The next step is the mold production phase. We should receive the first prototypes in the spring. Once we receive the prototypes, we'll have them tested by you and professional chefs to fine-tune the final details.
For the design of the pan, we don't change a winning team. We're working with industrial designer Marc Venot , who previously worked on the Ultimate Chef's Knife.
And here are the first glimpses! They're not final, but they give you an idea of what it will look like:

For the launch of this pan, we set a target of summer. And so far, we're on schedule.
This pan would never have been possible without you. We can't wait to introduce it to you. If you have any questions or initial comments, we'd love to answer them in the comments below.
And if you missed our questionnaire to help you build the pan of your dreams, there's still time to take it.It's here.
