A professional blade

A strong blade is a blade that lasts a lifetime. That's why we chose a premium German stainless steel: X50CrMoV15. And to go even further, we chose to forge it from a single piece of full-tang steel. In concrete terms, the steel goes all the way to the end of the handle to create a strong and balanced knife, and that changes everything.

Nothing can resist them

We opted for a 58HRC steel blade, the perfect compromise between strength and durability. We also chose a 30° angle for clean and precise cutting. You can chop chives, carve your Sunday chicken, a sea bream carpaccio, or even a butternut squash. You'll respect your products and save a lot of time.

A comfortable grip

A solid knife is good, but a knife that's pleasant to use is a different story. To achieve this, we opted for an inclined bolster that rests on the blade. Not only is it safer for your hands, but it also makes cutting easier. We guarantee you'll enjoy cooking much more!

Made in Portugal

We've unearthed one of the best cutlery makers in Portugal: they've been making millions of knives every year for over 70 years. Needless to say, we trust their expertise. For a chef's knife, there are no fewer than 23 manufacturing steps, half of which are done by hand. But when you love something, you don't count the cost!

Our answers to your questions

What is a full tang forged knife?

A full-tang knife is a kitchen knife whose blade extends the entire length of the handle, with the steel running from the tip of the blade to the end of the handle. Our ultimate chef's knife is a full-tang knife. These are the strongest and most durable knives available.

We tell you all about full-tang knives right here here.

When and how should I sharpen my knives?

It depends on your usage. For typical use, it's not necessary to sharpen your chef's knife more than twice a year. At Atma, we offer one sharpening per year for the first two years.

For more information, we'll tell you everything here.

What are the differences between a chef's knife, a santoku, and a nakiri?

The chef's knife is the most versatile knife in your kitchen. If you only have one, this should be it. Perfect for chiseling, slicing, chopping, and dicing meat, fish, vegetables, and fruit, it's perfect for chopping, dicing, and dicing meat, fish, vegetables, and fruit.

Nakiri and Santoku knives, both Japanese, differ in that the Nakiri has a straight blade and the Santoku has a curved blade. Nakiri knives are perfect for precise cuts of vegetables and make them easy to pick up. Santoku knives are more versatile and excel at slicing and dicing. The choice between the two depends on your personal preferences and needs: the Santoku for increased versatility, the Nakiri for precise cutting of vegetables.

Afterwards, if like us, you like to go into detail, we have prepared an article for you on the different types of knives available and their correct use here.
